Writing With ADHD Part One: Writing, Emotions, and Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria
It’s been a few months now since my official ADHD diagnosis. The fact that I’m almost 40 years old has not escaped me. There were a lot of weeks where things Were Not Well in My Head. Not scary bad, but the kind of bad where you’re looking back at your ENTIRE LIFE and things both make a HUGE AMOUNT OF SENSE but are also terribly depressing to think about. Some of these insights will make it into a larger piece some day, but I do not have the emotional resilience or spoons to talk about that right now. What I can talk about is ADHD and writing, because for…

It’s 12 Knights of Queen of None!
We’re in the final countdown! And, since this truly bizarre year means no book release events in person, no conventions, and very little in the way of in-person promotion, I’m going all out. That’s twelve wild days and knights (hehe) of Arthuriana in celebration of Queen of None coming up just around the corner. I started off this morning with a newsletter sent to my subscribers (you subscribe, don’t you?) with some fun announcements, and then I put together — you guessed it — a meme! There will be more, including some longer-form pieces here, some video, me babbling on screen about nerdy Arthurian things, and giveaways. So stay tuned!…

Praise for Queen of None from Publishers Weekly
You know I’m pleased when they call me clever. The review for Queen of None from Publishers Weekly just went live, and I’m still grinning. Is the validation required for writing? No. Does it help? Absolutely. Are things right now a trash fire and this is a much-needed moment of fresh air? You betcha. “…a layered, engaging retelling sure to please fans of the Arthurian tales.” Publishers Weekly I wrote a bit of a longer piece on Facebook about this, and the review process, so I’ll paraphrase here: your writing career is not one review, or even ten reviews. If you want a career in writing, you’ve got to learn…
