Yesterday’s Hero by Jonathan Wood

Okay, so granted I had a little something to do with this. But seriously, folks. I’ve known Jonathan since, oh, 2008 or so. He was one of the first writers I “met” doing the spec fic thing through Twitter. We’ve been in a writers group since that time, and I’m consistently amazed by his imagination and writing skill. Not to mention he has a fantastic taste in video games, and we’ve got a shared appreciation for the magic of DragonAge and other epic fantasy RPGs. Also, he’s just a kind, sweet, often hilarious person. It doesn’t hurt that’s he’s also English. 😉

Anyway, a few months ago we serialized his Nyarlthotep Event over at GeekDad, and when he mentioned hosting the sequel to his first book, No Hero, I couldn’t refuse.

Here’s the skinny on Yesterday’s Hero:

Another day. Another zombie T-Rex to put down. All part of the routine for Arthur Wallace and MI37—the government department devoted to defending Britain from threats magical, supernatural, extraterrestrial, and generally odd.

Except a zombie T-Rex is only the first of the problems about to trample, slavering and roaring, through Arthur’s life. Before he can say, “but didn’t I save the world yesterday?” a new co-director at MI37 is threatening his job, middle-aged Russian cyborg wizards are threatening his life, and his co-workers are threatening his sanity.

As Arthur struggles to unravel a plot to re-enact the Chernobyl disaster in England’s capital, he must not only battle foreign occult science but also struggle to keep the trust of his team. Events spiral out of control, friendships fray, and loyalties are tested to their breaking point.

So for the next week, you can pick up digital versions of BOTH of his books. For FREE. Go get them! Now!
